First "official" steps

Yesterday we were hanging out in the living room watching football and John decided to take 5 deliberate and stable steps from Mommy into Daddy's arms! He continued to take steps to get Calie, walk to the couch and just to practice! He has been standing for periods of over a minute for the past month and taking a couple steps here and there but this was a milestone for the little man for sure. And what an excited little boy he was - smiled from ear to ear at his achievement! Yeah-John!

John turned 10 months old on the 10th! We are amazed how fast he is growing. Over the past month John has really grown and is showing more and more of his amazing personality. John is starting to take steps and walks/runs all around with his walker. He loves music, dancing and being a total ham. He got his 3rd tooth on the 24th of October - the top right tooth had been working its way through the gums and seemed to pop all the way through overnight. John has begun taking baths in the big bath tub and LOVES it. He splashes all around, plays with his toys, puts his face in the water and blows bubbles. This has been a major month with us moving into a new house so adjusting to the new space and enjoying all the room to roam. John is continuing to be a great little eater - he really loves his cheerios, eating banana out of a mesh feeder, his vegtables, applesauce and chicken and rice. He claps alot and sings along when we sing. He dances up a storm and busts out his moves when we say "boom chakalakalaka boom" - so cute! We are still getting his room in order but he is loving some new toys and the space that he has to crawl around his room and his toy cabinet. He is a total joy and we comment all the time how awesome he is, how much we love him and how much he makes us smile - inside and out! He is now wearing 12-18 month clothes, is approaching 29 inches tall and is totally slimming down as he makes laps around the house with all the new space. He loves to talk to Calie and chase her around...she on the other hand is having a hard time with him being able to get to her! John is wanting to start feeding himself and takes the spoon sometimes actually getting the food in his mouth most of the time. He stands alot and talks, claps, dances or just hangs out. And John is still a cuddle bug. He gives tons of hugs, kisses and will spend time just snuggling with us - the best feeling! He is quite the explorer and is extremely observant. I could go on and on...we so love this little man!

We are all moved into the new place. We are still working on organizing and unpacking boxes as we have time. We are loving the kitchen, hardwood floors, and all the space. John loves being able to crawl all around. We can't wait to get in all in order and feel completely settled in!

Our sweet nephew Trevor turned 1 on October 29th. We were so excited to spend a couple days with him last month. He had a fabulous party and Trevor and John had a blast together. They played with lots of new toys, enjoyed stroller rides, spent lots of time with Grandma and made us all smile, smile, smile!
